President's Day 2006

On the 24th June the Nomads got together for their annual Chairman's day game but as Fred had been moved up a notch in the club we had to rename the day to the President's Day game.

The day and the game was played in good spirits as usual with some typical sledging in the field.  I am sure at one point that Yash was going to get a ball in his mouth after some juicy comments to Qaiser.

Well the team were selected and to save any embarrassment of being the last person picked this was done on a piece of paper.  The second eleven headed by Adam went into bat and put on a respectable score that the President eleven meant that they had to sweat a bit if they want to get near it.

After a hard fought battle the President Eleven managed to scrap a win and took the spoils for the day.

Thanks to all that attended and made the day a another Nomad day.  A special thanks to Mrs Jethwa and Mrs Mooney for the superb curry enjoyed by all after the game and to Fred who insisted on putting his hand in his pocket to buy everyone a few drinks.
